Exhaust ventilation uses a variable speed fan to provide a base air flow rate that ensures a safe environment. When air concentrations of flammable or hazardous gases reach preset detectable levels, the explosion-proof exhaust fan shifts to high speed to quickly return the work space to safer concentration levels. Intake and exhaust can be controlled independently to maintain negative pressure in the booth. Fans and fan motors meet applicable explosion-proof requirements. Fans and Motors made in Oklahoma, USA.
Light Fixtures are ceiling-mounted and meet applicable explosion-proof requirements. Interior Lights are made in Wisconsin, USA. Emergency Light is made in Texas, USA.
Airflow and Plenum design has been reviewed and optimized with computational fluid dynamics modeling by a Professional Engineer. Our Plenum Panels are engineered to have increased airflow along the bottom 12" to maximize the capture and ventilation of heavier-than-air gases. (Butane, Propane, Ethanol) Steel Panels made in Colorado, USA.
Infrared sensors are used to detect and control butane, propane, ethanol, and CO2. Our CI/D1 explosion-proof sensor provides a real-time LEL% read-out and is programmed to alarm at 10% and 25% of the LEL. Sensor and Transmitter Made in U.K.
Utility Penetration Plate
All non-rated equipment should be located outside of our CI/D1 Booths. Our Utility Penetration Plate allows for heating and cooling lines to easily be run from inside your booth to your non-rated components (chillers, ovens) located outside. Each Utitlity Penetration Plate comes with the 16 pre-punched penetrations and the accompanying fire-rated hole seals. Dimensions and quantity are as follows: (2x) 3/4”, (4x) 1 1/8”, (8x) 1 3/8", (2x) 1 3/4” penetrations Steel Panels made in Colorado, USA. Custom Hardware made in Colorado, USA.
The UL Listed Control Panel controls all booth components (fans, lights, sensors, alarms) and runs on a 208VAC single phase circuit. Made in Colorado, USA.
Included with the booth is CI/D2 hazardous location Amber Light Alarm and 109 Db Sound Alarm. Our alarms are programmed to go off at two different set points of the lower explosive limit (LEL) of your solvent, 10% of the LEL - Amber Light Alarm + Purge Air Flow Rate 25% of the LEL - Amber Light Alarm + Sound Alarm + Purge Air Flow Rate Light Alarm made in Tennessee, USA
The door and its hardware are UL-Listed and are fire-rated for 90 minutes. The door has an automatic closure and is equipped with a window and a panic bar for emergency exit. Multiple door swing variations available. Door and Frame made in Iowa, USA.
